Front of House
All staff have a two day induction to get to grips with the basic elements of our service. At C&B we're known for our personal touch and knowledge of the menu. So we like our staff to be confident with customers as soon as they start serving and able to recommend personal favourites from our menus and drinks. You'll learn about our brand and values, as well as tasting our classic British dishes and basic wines.
Once you've completed your induction, a Personal Trainer will support you through your first two weeks of ongoing training with us.
You'll learn about wine with regular wine tasting sessions from our Wine Ambassadors, and try out new dishes when we launch new menus.
Before going on your own site, all Managers go on a two and a half week induction in training bars.
You'll attend the staff induction with all new Front of House staff, before taking a further half day course to learn about your responsibilities as a Manager and to go through Health and Safety paperwork and licensing.
Once in the training bars, you'll shadow our Managers as they run a shift - getting hands-on experience of the demands and requirements of a C&B Manager. You'll also get to know our culture and spend three days with a Head Chef to learn about our ingredients and how we make our fresh food.
Our Head Office team runs a series of four courses during your induction where you'll learn about Back of House, cashing up and financial systems so you can step straight into the role at your bar.
Once you're managing your own bar, we'll continue to help you grow and develop. We'll pay for you to do your WSET Intermediate to get you up to speed in your knowledge of wines and spirits, and you'll be given credits to buy a course of your own choice. We also run internal courses every quarter on operational excellence.
As a Manager you'll have the freedom to make your own decisions in running your business. You'll have complete control over your bar, with a weekly Manager's Meeting at Head Office to talk about figures and share ideas.
Internal growth plays a huge role in our success, and we want you to pass on your knowledge to your whole team. You'll be responsible for mentoring the Assistant Manager and their career with C&B, who in turn will guide the rest of the staff in your bar.
At C&B we have a chef's training academy, which covers everything from basic hygiene and health and safety to in-house training, to help you progress in your career path. You'll also have plenty of off and on site visits with suppliers and producers where you can learn more about British produce and fresh ingredients.
